The deal is not official yet but it appears that the Cowlitz Indian Tribe of Southwest Washington will complete a deal to purchase Tri-Mountain Golf Course in Ridgefield soon from Clark County.
The golf course is located right off Interstate-5 just north of Portland. It is also right across the freeway from the Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s Ilani Resort and Casino.
The tribe will reportedly pay $3.6 million to purchase the Tri-Mountain Golf Course.
Interestingly the county received two bids for the golf course – both coming from the Cowlitz Indian Tribe. The other bid was for $5 million but that bid did not meet the sale requirements because the bidder asked to terminate all of the restrictions and covenants after five years.
Tri-Mountain Golf Course opened for play 20 years ago by Clark County.
Clark County did have one condition of the sale that Tri-Mountain will continue to operate as a public golf course. In addition to the golf course, the purchase also includes the clubhouse, office, two maintenance buildings, driving range and equipment.
