Invited, the largest owner and operator of membership clubs, hosted The Crush It! Cup in conjunction with three-time major winner Jordan Spieth. Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas hosted the youth golf tournament and fundraising event, which raised $250,000 for Spieth’s nonprofit, The Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, an organization serving individuals with special needs, junior golf, military families and veterans and pediatric cancer.
Ava Dunger, a 13-year-old from Gig Harbor participated in the event, which attracted 36 top junior golfers from Invited clubs across the country. Dunger earned a spot through participation in a two-month Golf Marathon Fundraiser where she competed to play the most number of holes, celebrating youth golf while fostering a spirit of community and philanthropy.
During the tournament, Dunger played a hole with Spieth on the course where the PGA TOUR member learned the game. She averages a 42-stroke score on nine holes, and Spieth’s caddie, Michael, hails from her hometown. Dunger recently recorded first place finishes in two nine-hole tournaments, and she hopes to play college golf and advance to the LPGA.
