Tournament season heating up

Tournament season for the Pacific Northwest’s top professionals and amateurs is right around the corner. The Muckleshoot Washington Open kicked off the championship season with a three-day tournament at Kent’s Meridian Valley Country Club.

Here is a look at the rest of the major championship schedule in the Pacific Northwest…

• Rosauers Invitational will be held July 19-21 at Spokane’s Indian Canyon Golf Course.

• The Northwest Open Invitational is set for Aug. 19-21 at Walla Walla’s Wine Valley.

   And don’t forget these pro tournaments.

• Aug. 8-11: WinCo Foods Portland Open, Web.com event at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club near Portland. This tournament will bring together the top                  players from the Web.com Tour and at the end, the top 25 will be awarded Playing Cards for the PGA Tour for the 2020 season.

• Aug. 23-25: Boeing Classic, Champions Tour event at Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club, just east of Seattle. Local favorite Fred Couples is always a                headline attraction at this event, which is marked by a flyover from a Boeing jet before the tournament starts.

• Aug, 29-Sept. 1: Cambia Portland LPGA Classic, one of the longest-running LPGA events set for Columbia Edgewater in Portland.

   And a couple of top amateur events to remember to take a look at:

• PNGA Men’s Amateur, will take place at two courses, Tacoma Country and Golf Club and Chambers Bay July 8-13.

• PNGA Women’s Amateur will be held at Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Ore. July 15-19.

         PNGA Junior Amateur Boys and Girls at Port Ludlow on Aug. 12-16.
